Year One

I started this blog a year ago yesterday. Funny business this blogging business....I find that im checking in on my friends lives through their websites and not with phone calls or emails. I really need to be better about that.
At the same time, I know that I havent been very good with keeping this thing up lately, so If anyone has been checking up on me thru this site, I want you to know that I am still alive up here......If you look at this, say hello, I would like to know who, if anyone looks at this thing.

And another thing..These are becoming very common in my neighborhood and a couple weeks ago there was one u-locked to my front porch. I think it might be time to move.

Dude, I read your shit and love your photography. Music's not bad either. Fuck those uni-bitches, they should be made to move out of our neighborhoods! Also, while were at it those bikes where the seat and handle bars are like, ten feet off the ground, Ugh! Fuck all that noise too.

Hey, Derek,

I often check your blog...especially to see your pictures from the road. I've been working at the music thing for 7 years and I still dream of touring. I appreciate the blog, as it provides a look into your travels. Thank you.

I'll see you and the rest of PGMG on May 20th at the Black Cat.

Safe travels,
Quinn S.

i read this.

it's an understatement to say your music saved my life. i first saw pgmg over 5 years ago in los angeles when you were opening for another band i originally came to see. i went home that night feeling like-new. i know it sounds cheesy, but it's true. i was only 16.

i just thought i'd share that since i just read the news. (by the way...FUCK!)

later on, i'd go to every la show by bus and subway. i would be kinda pissed that i couldn't go the night before or the next night to san diego or anaheim, because i was still a minor with no ID, broke, didn't have older friends i could go with, etc.

i'm 21 now. i will be at the los angeles, pomona, and seattle shows. in the meantime, i'm gonna let the news sink in a bit more.

a unicyle? seriously? there has to be some sort of meaning behind it. maybe it's seattle's way of telling you to move to a one bedroom some place? or ....go be alone or something.

huge fan. HUGE.
